I'm Squatch, and I'm on your side of the desk.
Most of my life in sales, more than 30 years. I’m a buyer’s advocate who has worked both sides of the desk. I’m independent. No dealer or manufacturer pays me, so the only person I have to look out for is you.
QUESTIONS
Fair things to ask first.
Will you tell me which dealer to buy from?
No. Your Shortlist names floorplans, not a camper sitting on a certain lot. That keeps it honest, and it means you can shop every pick anywhere, new or used.
Can you tell me if my truck can tow it?
No, and I won’t guess. I ask what kind of vehicle you have only to keep the picks in a sensible size range. Each pick lists its weights. Check them against your owner’s manual and door sticker, or ask your vehicle dealer, before you buy.
Is this an inspection?
No. It’s research on floorplans: specs, recalls, owner reports and prices. Nobody has looked at a specific camper for you. That part is still yours to do.
I’m brand new to this. Is it for me?
That’s exactly who it’s for. If you don’t know a fifth wheel from a toy hauler yet, pick “Not sure, help me decide” on the form, and your Shortlist will say which type fits you and why.
